7600GT vs GS

is the extra 50 dollars for the GT worth it?

New Egg has the EVGA 7600GS rated at 256-bit memory which i think is a typo

is the GT worth the 50 dollar premium?

typos dont exist on new egg! think of new egg as the chuck norris of online stores. btw, i am not sure about GS's and GT's but usually VRAM runs at 256 bit, so theres nothing wrong. To be honest with u; its useless buying either as soon they will be pretty much extinct, i would suggest getting a 7900 GT whatever it might cost, its ur best chance of not losing a lot of money on what u will have to throw out sooner or later (most likely in a year or two, and if u get the upgrading bug, less than hafl a year i believe)

PS to the buds above...the 7600GT is almost equal to a 7800GT 2 7600GT's vs 2 7800GT are equal

the 7600GT isnt gonna be existent

why?

if the 6600LE is still around the 7600GT il be around for many years

I've seen many typos at new egg 😉

And VRAM doesn't "Run" at 256-bit. Since it is a measurement of how broad the memorybus is. "Running at 256-bit" is like saying "my car tops at 200 miles" (yes miles, not miles per hour) you can't say that.

And the memory bandwidth for graphics cards is 32, 64, 128 or 256-bit.
the 7600-core uses an 128-bit memory interface. So new egg is dead wrong.

And the 7600GT is a really good card since it is much cheaper than the 7900GT. Plus you can OC the 7600GT to almost 7900GT performance. I've seen people beating the 7800GT with a 7600GT without any special version of the card or special cooling.
