Hey all. I am building a new pc. My choices for my gpu are dual 780s. Should I upgrade to dual 780 Ti, or should I wait for the new architecture 800 cards, or stick with the 780's. Thanks. I am gaming on 2560x1080 and occasionally 1920x1080. I want to max everything including crysis 3 and metro. Thanks guys.

The two lesser card thing applies to lower end GPUs: 750 Ti (I believe), 760, and 770.

The performance difference between the 780 and 780 Ti isn't that large, and two SLI 780s would easily trump a single 780 Ti. Whereas if you were comparing two 760s or two 770s, their performance is closer to a single card: 780/ti

To the op, go with the SLI 780s, you won't need...
2560x1080p at 60hz? I would imagine two 770's could achieve that.... although are you wanting to crank MSAA up to like 8x?
unless you are, i dont see a need for 780s.
really it's a budget thing. the 800s wont be dropping until like september, that's a long time to wait.

Yeah It's not recommend to build a computer with 2 lessor card. you should almost always go with 1 of the best card for your budget for gaming. SLI is more of something you do years down the road to squeeze relevancy out of your rig.

So I should just go with a 780 Ti and leave it alone until later? Any one in particular? I want to get the fastest one if I am getting one. The evga classy looked pretty good but if I can get those clocks OCing myself then should I get the normal vega version for cheaper?

To the op, go with the SLI 780s, you won't need anything more for that resolution and you could likely max everything out, or be close enough to it.
