So, my two NVIDIA GEforce GTX 280 cards recently fried and I bought a pair of MSI GeForce GTX 560 TI Twin FrozrII/OC cards to replace them. They arrived today and I excitedly opened them up, set up my machine for the switch, opened it up, pulled out the old cards, and began inserting the first of the new pair when I noticed that the old cards were each connected to the power supply via one six-prong cable and one eight-prong cable, and the new cards each appear to have a pair of six-prong sockets.
<eye twitch>
Surely, I can't be the first one to have this problem. My thoughts are that I'm going to have to order some kind of converter that will change the eight-prong cable into a six-prong cable, and that this will take some time to arrive here. Is this pretty much it? Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks!
