Hmmmm money is becoming an issue as of right now.
Should I go with the T-Bird 800 or 1ghz?

I am going to be using the asus kv7 kt133 board too.
Another thing I forget to check out, does anyone know if that board has sound or do I have to fork out more money for a good sound card?

I am basically just building a strong gaming system.

Well personally I would go with the 1GHz.

The Asus KV7 is a Slot A motherboard, so it won't work here. You need the ASUS A7Pro (which has onboard sound) or ASUS A7V (which doesn't have onboard sound.)

Or if you don't want to go with ASUS than go for the ABIT KT7.

Hope that helps.

(PS. All the motherboards I recomended use the VIA KT133 chipset).

What do you mean that its a slot a and won't work here. Aren't the t-bird's slot A cpu's and the asus mobo slot a too?

What is basically the different between the A7Pro and A7V

No, the T-Birds are Socket A CPUs.

The only difference between the A7V and A7Pro is that the A7v has more PCI slots and doesn't have onboard sound or onboard network card. the A7Pro has only 3 PCI slots ( I think), but it has onboard sound and ethernet.
