i am going to build a system for gaming.

i am using this processor

http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=430632

i will be getting corsair XMS2 DDR2 800 or 667.

will i benafit (gaming and internet, word processing ect.) from getting 800mhz insted of 667 (i am on a budget, so price to preformance is needed)

cheers!
since you're going with a C2D....go with the DDR2-800. It'll give you the ability to hit 400 mhz fsb, easily achievable with the E6000 series.

If YOU DO plan to overclock you processor, get the DDR2 800.

If YOU DO NOT plan to Overclock, get the DDR2 667. Even if you only want to OC a little.

DDR2-800 isn't all that much faster than DDR2-667. It just overclocks better.
