Hi guys... I bought a new ssd about two weeks ago .. samsung 840 EVO 250gb
after great reviews I read about it ..
when I bought it it was great and like you see in the comparison chart down there it was great .. the IOPS speeds (random read/write) specifically
but after some time it's degrading .... today I read about the performance restoration tool and I used it but again NOTHING CHANGED .. same sh*tty speeds benchmarks .. it's so annoying and I don't know what to do now !! PLEASE help me
* note: I updated the bios and all drivers are perfect (iobit driver booster)

Lmah,

For my problem, you were 100% correct. No, I had not run the performance restoration until after you mentioned it. My sequential read has returned to normal. I now get 551 MB/s out of spec'd 540 MB/s. Thank you.

Glad to hear

Ok I installed Intel Rapid Storage technology .. and the benchmarks are better now .. i don't understand it (because the benchmark was fine when first bought it without intel RST)... but i just saw this solution some where while searching the problem Now I just hope it stays this way .. good luck guys and thanks for all the help

Yea always make sure you stop by your motherboard manufacturers website for all the drivers, etc... after you get everything up and running.... I usually grab everything except the bloatware utilities. That actually completely slipped my mind. Good to know you have it working properly now.

I deal with Samsung's SSD support alot, to get to them its 1-800-Samsung (726-7864) and select the prompts 1 for consumer, 1 for first time caller, 4 for computers, 5 for drives, and 1 for SSDs.

Using the right drivers can cause a big difference in IOPS performance.
