Just like to see what kind of OC ppl are getting on their 8800s

Mine...

Inno3D 8800gts 320
Core 513 -> 600
Mem 800 -> 900
Using Riva Tuner

Havent pushed it as im getting the fps i want... for now.
But it seems it will oc as well or better than any factory oc card.
Oc's a LOT better than the 1950xt

Wish I could do some kinda Vmod on these but I hear the Vmod on this card is negligible. Have got it to run at 650MHZ in ATI tool with no errors for 30mins but it crashes BF2 after about 15 or so minutes of playing.

Ya I hear that I had a X1950XT before this and that thing didn't overclock real well compared to this and it hit extreme temps. At 700mhz (75MHZ OC) on that thing it would hit 96C in BF2. Fan fully blaring and a crap load of hot air coming out. This 8800GTS hit 75C max at a 125MHZ OC and barely has any heat output or noise compared to what I am use too. Thats why I wish I could Vmod it. It seems to have lots of potential.

runs stable in everything but battlefield 2142, and with my cheep fan mod it beryl gets over 60c. iv have the core up to 690Mhz but i can only run the desktop anything 3d and i get artifacts

edit:it will run 3dmark with no crashes upto about 670Mhz on the core the ram tops out at 1084Mhz
 
Hmmm... While you are at it, can you post some benchmarks/fps at stock and OC frequencies?

I am interested in an 8800 myself, and have seen conlficting info on the impact of core clock increases.

eVga 8800gtx KO @ 621 core / 1000 mem.

Of course that is stock for the card. I had pushed it up to 663 fairly stable(occasional artifacts but no crashing), but the visible difference in FPS was not there. I just couldn't tell from looking at it, so i said what the heck, leave it at stock(621) for now, until something comes out that I can't max out at stock. 8)

Probably I will try pushing it again when Crysis finally comes along.
 
My MSI 8800GTX is completely stable at 630/1030, up from the stock 575/900. Stock cooler and no volt modding. That would be pretty much the same speed as the Ultra wouldn't it? 3DMark06 score went up from 11,000 to 11,800, a 7% increase.
 
I've ran 3dmark06 at 630/1000 with no problems.
My regular game profile is 612/1000.
I'm still very happy with my cooler running/low power desktop profile of 130/260.

I've posted this somewhere else before but worth mentioning again for anyone oc'ing 8800's is that the overclocks happen in steps and don't always reflect what you think you are running.

from 554 to 571 = 567
from 572 to 584 = 576
from 585 to 603 = 594
from 604 to 616 = 612
from 617 to 634 = 621
from 635 to 661 = 648
from 662 to ??? = 675

So we can see that when you set your core to 600 MHz, it actually works at 594, which is exactly one percent less than what you requested.

Instead, these numbers show the value of base clock that triggers the SP clock change and its value.

565=1350
589=1404
611=1458
634=1512
657=1566
681=1620

The same principle also applies when clocking the memory:
from 897 to 908 = 900
from 909 to 927 = 918
from 928 to 940 = 936
from 941 to 958 =945
from 959 to 985 = 972
from 986 to 1003 = 999
from 1004 to 1116 =1008
from 1117 to 1035 = 1026
from 1036 to 1048 = 1044

Haven't done a lot of memory tweaking yet... basically got this system to do three consecutive 3DMark06 runs past 8,000 (so I knew the core was stable and not dropping down to 2D settings), and decided that was enough for now :)

bf2 max everything at 1600x1200 min fps 80 avarage 120 to max of 190fps.i think im in love with this. cant wait till i do step up when the 640 are cheaper or when the 8900 comes out.( 1 TERA FLOP!!)

i could be rong but to my knolage there is a moltiplyer that works like this

core speed * 2.3 = shader speed, but you set the shader speed with memory speed which uses a moltplyer to

memory speed * 1.5 = shader speed

you have to keep within these molitplers to keep the card stable also the core only goes up in 25Mhz increments

i could be wrong but thats what i know

also i know i spelled moltiplyer rong and knolage sorry don know how to spell them and my spell checker isn't picking them up

You got me curious as to what the impact would be so I did some testing. I don't know the best test to try it out but I tried anyhow. The numbers support what you are saying.

I ran 3dmark06 canyon flight at 604/1000, 616/1000, 617/1000.
The first two speeds will result in the same core speed but should still see some benefit from what you are saying. It did.
I ran each test 3 times and the results are consistent and outside the margin of error.

@ 604- 47.371, 47.302, 47.247--Avg. 47.306
@ 616- 47.861, 47.901, 47.807--Avg. 47.865
@ 617- 48.097, 48.112, 48.118--Avg. 48.109

This basically suggests that the big steps are important to be mindful of but there are still gains to be had in between them,(though smaller).

-In the first step the core is bumped 1.99% but the performance goes up only 1.16%. This is because the effective core speed never changed.

-In the second step the core went up only .16% but the performance went up .53%.

Im gonna have a play around some more when i some time.

Also as a side note... been getting some strange performance with STALKER... sometimes gets 10-15 fps on a new load, even with no dynamic lighting, all i need to do is go into gfx settings (not even change ne thing) and juts click 'use' and it shoots up to 40-60ish again. Odd. Farken game is soo bugged.

From what i experienced in Rivatuner. The 8800gts is similar. If you go into Targer Adapter and then customize, then hardware monitor.Then oc it with rivatuner or ati tool. You will see that i goes up in incraments.
