8gb ddr2 in Dell OptiPlex 330?

Has anyone had any luck installing 8gb in Dell OptiPlex 330 G31 chipset?? A11 bios revision
According to Dell they say no. But I've read some forums that had said you can with A11 bios? I come here for good advice and don't necessarily trust other forums Dell also said no core 2 quad and I've been running one for 2 years lol.. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Here is my rig:
Dell OptiPlex 330
core 2 quad q6600 2.4 ghz.
4gb ddr2 dual channel ram 1600/800mhz
NVidia gt620 2gb ddr3 Graphics
Asus xonar sound card
1 tb Hdd
Thermaltake 500 w psu
Windows 7 ultimate 64bit

according to the manufacturing specs of the chipset, 4GB is the max.
