Recently the smd condenser/capacitor SMD chip chipped off while i was installing it. I sent it to a local repair shop and they replaced it but the replacement looks larger. Will that be a problem? System works BTW. The tests ran OK and performance is about what to be expected from a PCI-E 4.0 drive. Might this new SMD cause stability issues in the future,or in heavy workloads? Thanks!

Solution
Is there a possibilty that both of them are alike in terms of functions? For example voltage regulation and such?
Without an in depth schematic, knowing what the original actually did, and the specs of the replacement.....no way to tell.

Use it.
See what happens.

If it 'fails', then you go back to the repair shop. They put it in, theoretically they knew what they were doing.
