I want to create a boot disk to reformat my hard drive. Windows will not let me reformat one of my drives becuase it has an operating system installed. I tried using my old xp disk but my computer doesnt recognize it as bootable any more.(Maybe becuase I'm running vista now. Also, I dont have the vista disk either). Can someone please give me a step by step of how to go about creating a disk that I can boot from to reformat a hard drive. Thanks.

www.bootdisk.com has a variety of boot disks that would do the job.. you could also try pressing F8 during boot and go into safe mode with command prompt and try formatting from there. Or try doing it through disk management..
