I'm looking to buy The NVidia shiled portable, and I have a few questions to ask about the device:

1. Will games like Minecraft, Terraria, Dead Trigger 2, Half life 2, Asphalt 8 and Portal run smoothly? Or will they run, but with some lag? I know the tegra 4 processor is very fast, I have it my tetra note 7 tablet, but Somme games lag a bit on it, and Im hoping to get the smoothest gaming experience possible.

2. NVidia put a message on their website, saying something like this: "Even with the new NVidia shield tablet out, we will keep providing updates and features to the shield portable." This is sort of true, but at the same time, its not. You have access to hl2 and portal on the shield portable, but NVidia released those games AND hl2 episode 1 on the shield tablet. Is this because they are giving up on thee shield portable? Is it because the hardware is too weak? Or, will we see more half life games coming to the shield portable? And also, will android lollipop be on this device?

If you know the answers to any of these questions, please comment them. It would be a big help!

The performance exhibited by a Tegra Note's CPU should not be much below the Portable's CPU performance. I haven't found benchmarks, but that extra gigabyte of RAM should help it perform a tad better in games. Minecraft, Dead Trigger 2 and Asphalt should have no issues running, as they run just fine on a Snapdragon 600 with twice the pixel number. Never having owned a SHIELD, I have no experience with Portal, but reviews say it plays smoothly.

I don't see NVidia making HL2 E1 for the Portable (or any other games, for that matter). I wouldn't say it's too weak, but it's just another company -- they want you to buy their newest product.
I do expect Lollipop to land on the device in the following month or two, but that's just me...

I do expect Lollipop to land on the device in the following month or two, but that's just me speculating. There's no evidence to support that. But seeing as the Tegra 4 chipset is already a year old, it won't be seeing much more software updates in the future. Chipset vendors usually limit chipset support to 24 months, half of which is already gone for the Tegra 4.
