A few bad companies encountered during my first build...

First on my list: PCVOnline
They listed a ASUS M4A78 PRO for $109.95, called then to order itand some guy called Jason picked up and said it was alright, he'd process my order. Next day, Jason calls back and tells me the pricing was an error and the product was $139.95. Their policy says they are not responsible for typographical errors, but Jason ORALLY told me it was $109.95. I mentionned this to him and he hung up. Called back using the general cupport line, and Jason picks up. I hang up. Called another branch on the other side of Toronto, and Jason still picks up! FTW

Second: Arcti Cooling (I know some of you will disagree, it was just one bad experience)
Bought a 12PWM fan from them. It spun at like 200 rpm moving around 5CFM, died the next week. (I was like, "hey, why is my case so hot?") Emailed them, and some guy called Dave tells me I've gotta ship it all the way down to the USA. Shipping costs around 4x the cost of the fan. No telephone #, and Dave never replied when I replied to his email, asking for free shipping.

So there you have it. Please don't flame me, I just want to know what you guys think of these two companies. Of course I had other DOA products, but RMA was smooth. Especially Microsoft, my wireless mouse/keyboard kept losing connection, I called them, and they sent me a new one. It's on its way, should be here next business day (Monday :))

If the fan ran at 200rpm you probably did not supply 12V to it. Remembers, smart fans dont like voltage-changing BIOS options like "smart fan control" etc.

omg I never thought of that!!! I got that ASUS fan optimizer on!!! omg thank you so much I'm gonna try that and let you know if it works 😀

PVConline is still a horrible shop... lol I didn't buy from them in the end 😛
