A good 1440p 144hz?

Been using this benq xl2411z144hz 1080p tn panel for two years. Little did I know this monitor isn't gsync or freesync.

I thought about going ultra wide but fear losing 144hz. Plus I heard UW only get 60 fps max. All I know is I definitely want a larger monitor. Once calibrated tn panel doesn't look bad to me. I would go directly to the Dell UW but I'm afraid of the capped frame rate and the delay may give me some disadvantages in fps.

I thought the balance for me would lie in 1440p 27"+ true 144hz panel doesn't matter.

I play wow and counter strike.

Open to opinions.

Using gtx 1070 ti.

There are 3440x1440P/120hz monitors but there quite expensive. Then there's 2560x1080P/144hz monitors which are quite nice and cheaper.

And no, ultra wides are not capped.

How many games don't support ultra wide does wow and counter strike source?

There's a very few AAA games that don't. From Blizzard it's Overwatch and Starcraft 2 which they did on purpose for "fairness". WoW & Diablo 3 run 21:9 natively so no issues. I know CSGO works natively at 21:9 and Source may but if not some games can be patched (easily) with WSGF. Other popular titles that support it is PUBG and Fortnite.

The easiest way to check is Google <Game> 21:9, there's usually a video showing gameplay or a fix if needed. I play some random F2P games and I'm amazed at how many support 21:9 without patches and I prefer 21:9 over 16:9.

Okay so sounds like UW will be the way to go. I have a 55" desk. So it should fit well. Assuming the Dell aluenware UW is the best option?

If so then awesome, this is one beastly monitor and I'm jealous! Also if you've never had a IPS panel then you'll like it as the colors are much better then a TN panel. One con to this is you can get a little bit of backlight bleed but when gaming it shouldn't be a issue.
