Hello Everyone

I have this small problem about to where should i plug my UPS, because my desktop is a bit too far from a wall outlet and I'm planning to use a surge/power strip to plug my UPS, and yes i search in the internet and also saw it on the manual that i should plug it directly on the wall outlet, but i also read something that it's okay as long as you won't overload it or something, i don't have quite enough knowledge about electrical stuff..

My UPS is an "APC EASY UPS BV 800VA" and the surge/power strip that I'm going to use is "HUNTKEY PZC504"

the set up is the only thing that is plugged in the Surge/power strip is the UPS and a 10watt desktop speaker nothing more..

PC Specs:

CPU: Intel i5-8400
Motherboard: Z370 Tomahawk
Memory: 2x 8GB Hyper X fury DDR4
GPU: GTX 950
HDD: 1x 1TB Seagate 1x 500GB Westren D
SSD: 1x Samsung Evo 1x Kingston
PSU: Seasonic focus plus gold 550w

Hope to hear some feed backs and suggestions to you guys, Thank you..

Solution
A UPS also needs to be grounded to function properly.

While the cable with a ground pin may not be an issue (it's still not usually recommended), the no ground pin in the wall is an issue.

I wouldn't use a PC or UPS without a ground personally.
