Hello Everyone, and thank you for reading!
I have a PC with a GTX 950 and a Xeon 1231. I'm using it for CAD applications, mainly Autodesk Inventor, but the pixel pushing GTX 950 isn't my best bet, it was a money saving compromise so I could get all of the other stuff.
What I'm having trouble finding is a workstation class GPU that will give me minimal bottlenecks with my current system, which consists of an Intel Xeon E3 1231 V3 and 16 GB of RAM.
This is definitely my worst written thread, but thanks anyway!

I suppose I should have said my budget first... Those cars are way out of my wallet. I defiantly fall into the "entry level" category, and I don't care about gaming, I just hate bottlenecks because I don't like wasting money. I'd have to say my budget is about $300.

Isn't the 1060 a gaming card? Why would this be better for CAD?
From what I understand, the fundamental differences between a workstation and gaming class GPU is their differences in speed and accuracy. A gaming card would focus on making as may frames as possible at high resolutions whereas a workstation card would focus on accuracy and texture quality.
Would a card like the 1080 be able to handle gravity simulations and stress analysis accurately workstation cards promise? I don't understand why a card that focuses on speed could possibly be better than a workstation class card.

What you state about focus on speed vs accuracy is a complete fallacy. They actually even share mostly the same silicon. What matters is raw processing power. In both cases.

I guess I don't have the best understanding then.
I actually just read an article on the 1060 for CAD applications and Inventors system requirements and discovered this- Inventor uses DirectX instead of OpenGL, which means non workstation cards will work just fine with it.
Thanks for your help, but it seemes that the only reason to upgrade my GPU would be if I needed more VRAM! I probably will though, lol.

You're welcome!
