Hi Guys.

I have a 2.8 Ghz Prescott running stable at ~3.57 Ghz.
Is that good?
Well I am sure it's hot.
My CPU didn't explode yet, but I don't want to take chances.

Anyone know of a good and easy to find CPU fan & heatsink?
I think I need some thermal paste also.

thanks!!
( sorry, I should have posted this in the Cooler and Heatsinks area I found later)

Thanks for the links.
But I was hoping someone can recommand a good specific fan & heatsink.
Or are you saying all heatsinks bigger than mine are also better at cooling?

Thermaltake Blue Orb II has received excellent reviews and is rather reasonably priced. it can be found @ pricegragger.com under the computer section. Also, Arctic silver 5 is undisputedly the best thermal paste. Read how to apply it @ their website, it doesn't take much or it'll act as an insulator rather than a conductor of heat to your HSF.

With that processor, I would suggest you consider liquid nitrogen cooling. Then you keep it stable at around 40-50C!

buhahah

Seriously though...

2 Good sites for aftermarket cooling solutions.

Before you buy, do some searching. I've heard there is an issue that most people do not install the heatsink correctly, causing it to not seat right on the processor. Although, with a clock that high an aftermarket might be in order.

I'm a Thermalright guy myself. The XP-120 and XP-90s are good products. I usually stick with their recommended Panaflo fans as well.

If you're cooling on air then it;s got to be the Arctic Silver Pro series cooler. They are almost silent, and best still very cool....

I've got the Pro 64 on my athlon, and admittedly only a slight overclock, but this thing is absolutely silent!

Not sure how goot they are for the p4, but they can;t be that bad.

Failing that, thermaltake do a water cool kit which is a self contained radiator with fan, and a sealed loop to the CPU block. Looks and sounds pretty approprate stuff....
