You're better off with your onboard sound card than spending $60. Spending only $60 on a sound card or DAC, probably won't make any noticeable difference. If you were spending around $100+, then you would hear a difference. But today, most motherboards have pretty decent mid-range audio. If you really want to spend the money, get a DAC, not a sound card. I learned this the hard way. Most sound cards will have static and it's not worth it. I spent a bunch of money on the Creative ZxR and then had to return it due to the static and now I have a Schiit Bifrost DAC instead, which is AMAZING.
