A PC Situation

Hello everyone.

As much as I love PC gaming & the flexablility, I'm not sure if it's feesible for me now.

I used to be able to sit at my desk & game for hours.... not anymore.
I can't stand to sit long at all now because of my back so I simply rolled my rig over to the big screen in my bedroom where I could ly down & game.

While this is more comfortable for me it introduces a problem with keyboard & mouse. It's not really ideal having a keyboard on one side of the bed & mouse on the other, especially since I prefer wired. It's doable but it makes more sense for me now to just use a gamepad.

The gamepad is an easy solution & I'm right at home with it as I was a console gamer before I ever owned a PC.
But, this creates the following situations...

1. Not all games support the gamepad... which is fine, I could just get the ones that do (im not interested in using Pinnicle or xpadder).

2. I have one of those bed trays that my mouse & keyboard sit on so surfing the net aint too bad but I have to be sitting up so I can't it for long. Lol, sounds lazy I know but when your back hurts, being able to change sitting positions or lay on your back helps & I have to basically be sitting in indian style postion to browse the net to use Kb/M.

I find myself wanting to use the controller for everything so I can lay down... ah back relief.

So, I can't sit in a chair for very long & I want to use a gamepad because it enables me to lay down & play without the need for kb/m for games that fully support it.

Also, thinking of next gen consoles coming around soon I can either buy one or upgrade my PC GPU. I can't do both, not at the same time anyway, & if I choose a console as my main for gaming then I won't need to upgrade.

Maybe I'm overlooking some kind of solution? Is there a way to effectively PC game from bed cause what I'm doing now far from ideal.
I will say that Steam Big Picture does have me gaming & surfing primarily with a controller but still are many instances where I have to reach for th KB/M so it's more a step in the right direction, a big step but it's not complete yet.
Maybe it will be.

If you can't tell, I'm leaning toward the idea of switching to console just because the gamepad allows be to lay down (no muss no fuss is a plus too sometimes) but I am open to any suggestions & ideas & I know the pluses & minuses for both platforms.

Thanks for listening.

People play game for a long time and its a not a good way of playing and lying down for a long time, back pain is cause by too long sitting and lying down, seriously, no offence

U can get a very comfortable chair with some cuiShion to support ur back and probably some headsupport

I do not know if this wat u do, but if it is, i very sorry if it offend u in any way, when sitting on front of tv monitor or what ever, sit and dont make ur back bone curves forward it hurt ur back bone and behind ur neck, trying liying down alittle back to comfort urself

And some time, ur ass bone feel a little hurt when sitting for a long time, same happen to me, get a better chair, not a hard surface, its bad,

Hope this help and not offend u in any way.

I have tried a few different chairs & a saddle chair. I even set up my desk so I could stand & play which was probably the most comfortable for my back.

See, I had a driving job for 12 years & I did alot of sitting & I had to quit because of my lower back. I could not take it anymore.

I guess lying down isnJ good either but at least I can roll around & make all kinds of adjustments. I can even play lying on my side with a controller.

Out of the 80+ games on steam only around 20 have any controller support. Probably a handful of those 20 fully support a gamepad. The others only have partial support.

Either way you have to use a mouse & keyboard for the majority of games & other tasks.

I think the only way i can think now is a workout for u/jogging/some sport to burn some calorie, fat etc..
Because most of this contribute to a faster time to make u feel back pain...again and again.
And of course, less meat, cheese and more Healtier food in daily life
But all this is just a speculation of ur life, im spory in any way

Im sorry to hear ur job.

Yeah, alot of them do & I played a demo of The Darkness 2 & it just looks killer on PC. It does have full controller support.

To Ceee9... I have been getting a little more "active" lately. As for diet though.... not so much. I eat cheese, love it actually, & I enjoy eating things that aren't good for me :)

I'm a little overweight but not fat... yet.

Thanks to both you guys for your input & knowledge.
