Hello,

I’m having a queer problem, my PC (IBM Netvista M50) is shutting down every
few minutes with no special reason. I’m running XP with all the latest
service packs and updates. After I restart the PC, there is no event in the
event logs and no hardware error.

Any Idea?

Thanks

Janiv.

You have a virus
run an up to date virus checker.

Virus scan ur computer. This is probably a virus. If you can't keep the computer alive during the scan, you need to find a bootable virus scanner and go from there.

Most likely a virus, then hardware fault (powersupply or memory or other).

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.

Greetings --

Make sure that all of your cooling fans are working properly, that
the PC's interior is free of dust, and that all of the PC's case's
airways are free of obstruction. You may well be overheating; if it
goes on too long, permanent damage to the CPU and of chips may occur.

Also, try setting your system clock back to the right time :)

Try Safe Mode and see if it reboots from that too. Press F8 before
Windows loads (just after the POST screen).
