My Epson GT 1500 scanner is very slow.

Full system hardware specs and OS?

How slow is slow - can you quantify the values? Many devices are tested under ideal conditions and performance is advertised accordingly.

Performance for real world end users is seldom any where near the advertised rates.

How is the scanner connected?

Have your tried updating the drivers? Manually download via Epson's website. Reinstall and reconfigure. No automated driver update software.

That scanner has support for Windows 2000, which would make it pretty old. Unless you are scanning it with max resolution and max detail, if it's running slow, you may want to start looking for a new one.
