So I'm having a dillema with my pc upgrade-ish since my gpu died a week ago and my apu cannot give the reasonsble fps I need for gaming even with the right settings in my Asus VG278HE monitor. I have an A10-5800K cpu and Asus A55BM-E for a motherboard(Yeah I know noob build and not much room for improvement). So that's why I'm not totally sure if putting a gtx 1060 in that combo will work. I know for sure it will bottleneck but for how much? I don't have the money yet to fully replace my components so I'm having it one step at a time and I'm starting with my gpu.

Question is.. will it be reasonable for me to upgrade to gtx 1060 now while my system stay on stock and wait for further budget to upgrade or am I better getting a compatible gpu to match my system at the moment and wait for my chance to upgrade it all at one go.. tia

I think here we have a trouble.

Your monitor (good one) is 144hz, so, i'm not plenty sure if the GTX 1060 will do the job fine at that refresh, i highly recommend a GTX 1070.

Now, both cards (1060/1070) will do a bottleneck with cpu intensive games with your current CPU, maybe a little OC will help.

Yep that's why I can't utilize it that much but in order to adjust with my current set up I only put the refresh rate at 60hz until the day I can maxed it out.. will Gtx 950 work as a substitute till I can have my full system replacement?
