[SOLVED] A300 deskmini cpu upgrade

My build is A300 deskmini, Ryzen 3 2200G, 8GB 2933 x 2 (16GB), 256gb nvme. thinking of upgrade to 3400g, do you think is worth the money to upgrade? and i wonder can i use the 2200g's wraith stealth cooler on 3400g? since 3400g came with wraith spire cooler that is too tall for A300 to fit.

3400G is decidedly superior, both the CPU (4 gen2 cores/8 threads) and the iGPU to a 2200G (4 gen 1 cores only). You need to make certain that Asrock does have a BIOS that supports it first.

As far as cooler goes: if you can't fit the 3400G's stock cooler then maybe you could fit one of Noctua's excellent low-profile models. That would be superior in both cooling and noise output. If that's too costly to consider you can go with the 2200g's but the CPU and iGPU performance will doubtless suffer as it heats up.

EDIT add: According to Asrock's support page BIOS P3.50 supports 3400G's.
