I think this falls in this forum?
Anyway, I recently had the oportunity of installing a Promise SX4000 with 256MB Ram in a Asus A7M 266 D with 512MB and one MP1800+. Two 80GB Drives (ones IBM (120GXP?), and one WD800BB). No problems setting it up Raid 0, started install of XP, F6 for the drivers. Everything went perfect till I had to reboot from controller. I set the mobo bios to boot from SCSI/ATA Raid card, however it asks to "insert a disk and reboot"?? What disk, where? That btw the way is the only thing it says.
I got lucky and had a spare 60GB Maxtor. So I redid everything and made it primary master (boot) with the Raid0 just being 160GB space. I really want to boot from array though. Btw the computer is currently running XPSP1 with no problems to speak off now for a few days solid, other than booting from a slow Maxtor 60GB. The array is set to be bootable according to it's bios setup. I've read all the FAQ's from AMD, Asus, and the controller and nothing.

Thanx for any input

Only thing I can think of would be to move the SX4000 to a different PCI slot, preferably not the one next to the AGP slot. Try a few different ones to see if any of them work.
