A7N8X overclocking and BIOS query

I use an A7N8X v2.0 MB, BIOS version 1007. Processor is an AMD XP2500
Mobile CPU overclocked at 180FSB, 12.5x CPU (2250MHz). The system is
stable at those BIOS settings, along with Aggressive memory timings
and VCore at 1.65volts.

I have a question about the BIOS Advanced Chipset Features, CPU
Frequency Multiplier. The list of available multipliers starts at
13.0x, 13.5x, 14.0x then drops to 6.5x and climbs back up to 12.5x as
the last possible choice on that BIOS screen. 12.5x is stable but if I
try going up to 13.0x the system assumes the processor is only
800MHz??? Why?

I also cannot get above 180FSB without instability. Anyone out there
have other better achievements overclocking the XP2500mobile with the
A7N8X??

i heard you needed to lower your voltage to get it hiigher. but thats just
what i heard

Why are you not running at 200*11.5 or something of that sort
the increased fsb would be much better.. also make sure that your not
overclocking ur agp/pci bus when changing the fsb as that could be where the
instability is there..

Not sure why it starts at 800.. sounds like it's failing at the settings
your giving, so it's moving down to the lower level

Your default multiplier is 12.5 or less. In order to get to 13 or more, you
need to toggle the 5th bit of the multiplier. The A7N8X cannot do that. It
is possible to modify it with the pin-mod - essentially you use a wire
wrapped around 2 pins on the cpu to hard-wire the 5th bit of the multiplier
high or low.

Using my A7N8X Deluxe Rev2.0 and a normal unlocked Barton 2500 180MHz FSB is
about my limit too. The RAM I have is good for 220MHz 7-2-2-2 so it's not
that.

i had a amd 2500 and never got it to 200 fsb it was unlocked also. the
mobile processor is suppose to be way better for overclocking...
