A7V boot problems

I have a big problem. I have two A7V's. I tried both of them fully grounded with working geforce2 card and regular pci, both which work. They both had working memory and CPU/ All I get when I boot is a black screen and no beeps. I have a 300w power supply. Why am I having the same problem on two identical boards? AmI missing something? I need help ASAP!!!

You need to make more tests to check what exactly is wrong. Perhaps the power supply switch? try using some electrical conductor to touch the 2 pins on the motherboard to startup instead of the original switch.

Whoever wants to help you will need more description of your system and spec etc.

Check all the jumpers on your board. Make sure they are set to what you want them to be and make sure none are missing.

I would try setting all the jumpers and the dip switches to the default and making sure that the jumper that controls jumper/jumperless mode is set to jumperless.

I tried doing that with all the jumpers. Nothing happened, still a black screen. I can't get the thing to even go to bios.

Thanks for the tip man but that didn't work. Any other ideas?

If you're not getting any beeps, no screen, or anything, it sounds like the problem is originating with the memory.

Double check that the memory is seated properly and perhaps trying swapping out for some other memory.

I suppose there is also an outside chance that you may have gotten two boards that are both DOA. Stranger things have happened to me.

I guess you can also double check to see that the processor is seated correctly as well.

I'm guessing you already tried all these things, but you never know.

Good luck,

Poderoso.

Ya man, I don't know what the heck to do. You think my cpu may have burned out?

I had the identical problem. I thought it was the cpu and got another one. Same problem. What I did to resolve it was to hit the reset button after I powered on the board. Then it posted and I could get into the bios. I still have this problem after I change the cpu, but all I do now is hit the reset and it's OK.

Note: Turning the power off or pulling the plug will NOT work. You have to use the reset button.
