I guess I am a glutton for punishment, but I was running happily along with
Bios 1010.003 beta and decided that I would like to keep my motherboard
updated in case I put in a newer CPU than the Athlon 64 3500 Winchester
currently in it. A few weeks ago I saw ver 1011, so I downloaded and
installed it. After going through the BIOS setup screens I rebooted and the
reboot hung at something I do not ever recall scrolling by in the older
versions. It hung at "Auto-detecting USB Mass Storage Devices Device #01:"
this is right after it shows the hard drives and optical drives in my
machine.

Another reboot went fine and I saw the same text scroll by and then booted
ok into winXP (SP2). Not too bad I thought, but went I went to print
something, my Epson printer was not to be found. Powering down and turning
the printer back on, the PC then saw the printer on the USB port it is
connected to. I thought my printer had a problem. Each and every reboot
caused the printer not to be found again and recycling its power re-found
it. Unplugging the USB cable and then back in did not find it!

I reflashed the BIOS to 1010.003 and the above problems disappeared. The
printer problem was no more. The other day I saw that there was now versions
1012 and 1013.005 available, so I loaded 1013.005. Same problem re-occurred.

I checked all the BIOS USB and hard drives and boot sequence and everything
seems normal to me.My Epson printer does have a card reader slot in it, but
I do not keep and cards in the slot.

I know I can go back to 1010.003 and get rid of the printer problem and the
occasional boot hangup as indicated above, but I wonder if anybody else has
experienced this and possibly corrected it or knows why it happens.

I have 1012 version without any problem, i will update the new version 1013
and i will advise if any problem comes out.
