Hi,
I'm writing this with little to no hope at all... maybe as a way to channel my frustration
I own a Ryzen 5 1600 PC since last year, and only recently came to realize that the mobo XMP profile wasn't doing anything at all, and the RAM (a single Corsair Vengeance 16GB 3000Mhz) never clocked beyond 2133Mhz. This would not bother me at all but I read somewhere that the Ryzen CPUs need at least 2666 Mhz of ram to work properly. The mobo is a Gigabyte AB350 Gaming 3, and yes, I updated the bios. Also tried to overclock it "manually" following my CPU-Z timings, increasing voltages, etc... Tried countless combinations and nothing did the trick, never got anything beyond 2133Mhz. As you might guess I'm not an IT so I'm kind of walking in the dark with this. Should I just give up before messing up something beyond repair?
