Hello all,

I installed Abit EQ 1.12 and Abit manager 1.12, but the Abit EQ just
"beeps" like a warning, and after that I have a icon in the right part
of the taskbar, but if I click on it (right or left) nothing happens.
After some time the icon disappears again.

Strange...

If I start Abit Manager nothing happens at all from my point of view.

System: Abit IC7-max3, 1GB Ram, P4/3 Prescott, Win XP SP2 Beta (same
with SP1), Radeon 7800Pro/256.

Everything else works just fine.

Anyone knows what happens ? Installed and reinstalled several times
already...

Best regards and thanks,

Wolfgang

If installed, did you *uninstall* the winbond hardware monitor (Hardware
Doctor) before installing Abit? Did you download Abit from
ftp://ftp.abit.com.tw/pub/download/utilities/abiteq/abiteq1112.exe?

The long beep is because Abit starts detecting immediately on load
instead of pausing for a little bit before doing its first poll.
Apparently this is a bug and is a nuisance to get beeped on Windows
startup.

After loading AbitEQ, do you see the Abit icon in the system tray? If
you are running Windows XP and configured the tray to hide icons, you'll
have to expand the tray to check if it was hidden. Do you see the
abiteq.exe process in Task Manager's Processes tab?

By the way, if you see abiteq.exe load and then disappear in Task
Manager's Processes tab (you might have to up the refresh rate to ensure
you see it if it gets unloaded quickly), go check the Applications log
in Event Viewer to see if an error got recorded for it.

Yes, I see the icon, but I can´t click on it. And the process is in the
task manager.

Strange, now I get an "can´t open file" error. And then abiteq crashes.
New behaviour. The log says error in Modul mfc42.dll, Version
6.2.4035.0, adress 0x00004ac4. What´s mfc42.dll ?

Microsoft Foundation Class libary file, used in C/C++ programming. Have
you tried uninstall AbitEQ, wiping out any remnant install path and
files, and try a new install?

The last two mails were from me, just for clarification. Replied from
second rig where the settings were not correct. Sorry about that.
