Question About 6/12GB GPU memory Used when 100% used

Feb 9, 2022
I recently bought a new graphics card. When it's 100% busy, it's only using about 6/12GB of memory. What can be the reason and how can I fix it?

my Specs:
OS Name Microsoft Windows 10 Pro
Version 10.0.19042 Build 19042
System Type x64-based PC
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8700K CPU @ 3.70GHz, 3696 Mhz, 6 Core(s), 12 Logical Processor(s)
BIOS Version/Date American Megatrends Inc. 2501, 10.11.2020
SMBIOS Version 3.2
BaseBoard Manufacturer ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC.
BaseBoard Product ROG STRIX H370-F GAMING
BaseBoard Version Rev 1.xx
Platform Role Desktop
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 16,0 GB
Total Physical Memory 15,9 GB
Available Physical Memory 9,89 GB
Total Virtual Memory 28,4 GB
Available Virtual Memory 14,5 GB
Graphics card MSI GeForce RTX 2060 Ventus 12GB OC

Both when it hits the 6GB mark

VRAM usage is not the same as GPU usage. In some sort of simple wording:

Depending on your display resolution, game and graphic settings, this will tax the GPU (graphic processing unit) more or less. As long as the game works without issues and the performance is what you expect from it then theres no problem hitting 100% GPU usage (other than hitting the max performance your GPU can deliver under that graphic setting "scenario").

VRAM usage describe how much of your availale VRAM is used by your GPU for the task you are performing. Higher resolution, high texture packs and great visual effects usually means more VRAM will be used. But thats it.

Unless you are not talking about gaming here?
