About to pull the trigger on this build, can you give it a once over please?

OK, thanks to all your various suggestions over the past month or two, I have finally created this build, to serve as a gaming computer for my son, who wants to play COD, CS GO, Minecraft etc at 1080 ... and record videos of his gaming for YouTube

I have some SSD drives and a monitor/keyboard.

Just for the Role-playing of it, I laugh with fake condescension at a Red and Black themed build, with a team-green (nVidia) GPU.

In honesty, not bad at all. (Though I do like the Strix R9 390 from Asus, the 970 is a good card.)

Like others, I look as the PSU first since that isn't anything to skimp on, in this case the SuperNOVA passes cleanly.

That case looks like it could be fun to build in, with a large area to hide cables.

Yes, it is faster out of the box and it is over clock able to make it much faster. It comes with a FREE motherboard (look closer at page). It is a free Z170 MB than has more features than an H170 MB and also enables you to overclock that CPU. You do not have to overclock it right now. Your son may want to someday. Also you do not need 16gb of memory. Get DDR4 3200mhz instead. 2 sticks of 4gB. Later down the road you can add another 8 gig. The 3200 memory will let that processor fly.

The only problem you may have is the number of SATA cables. The MB comes with 2, if you need more, you'll have to buy them. The drive bays are on the bottom of the case, which is where the SATA ports on the MB are.

The SuperNOVA's cables will be plenty long enough, with the case design helping you to hide the excess.

I apologize for my foul language. You were doing you math comparing to his original build. Look at his second pcpartpicker where he incorporates my motherboard and cpu suggestion. His cost would have been $350 after getting the $10.00 rebate back. The deal he got thanks to me was for $270.00. He saved $80.00 and no rebate.

Ahh, didn't see that, but it was late, and I was amused. No problems here.
