Our 40 GB IDE boot drive had Operating System problems booting up. To avoid
re-installing the OS and any possible damage to our documents, we bought a
160GB hard drive and installed Windows XP on it. We are now accessing the
old 40GB drive as a secondary drive. We were able to successfully access my
files, but when we click on my husband's (and kids) Document Folder, we get
the following message in a dialog box: "E:\Documents and Settings\Andre is
not accessible. Access is denied".
I did not have a password on my old account, but they did, and apparently
their files are private. We have the same account names on our new drive,
but do not have passwords. We really need to access my husband's files. Is
there a way to regain access to them?

We would greatly appreciate any help we can get!

Thank You

Marie

You need to take ownership of the files. Take a look here for
the procedure:

Good luck
