Accidentally removed heatsink, reapply thermal paste?

My heatsink fell off of my cpu, do I need to reapply thermal paste?

But yes, you'll need to reapply thermal paste, otherwise you'll end up with tons of air bubbles.

Aren't most CPU coolers either screwed it in, or secured through plastic rivets?

Don't know about AMD, but Intel coolers use a crummy push pins setup. I hate it with all my heart.

Very easy to unseat cooler if you mess around with it.
