Accidentally turned off prompts for file downloads

Hello, hope someone can help.

When downloading an internet file, I accidentally turned off (unchecked) the
prompt feature that verifies the download. Now whenever I download a file,
it automatically downloads without any prompt. I dont know how to
reactivate this feature. I don't like having the file download
automatically.

Hi JR,

To get the download dialog box, enable the "confirm open after download"
option for that filetype:

Open Windows Explorer, Tools, Folder Options, File Type tab
Scroll down to locate the file type. Highlight the filetype click the
"Advanced" button.
Then check the option "confirm open after download".
