Acer aspire 7551-7422 wifi connects to router but no internet

Hello,
I just bought an acer aspire 7551 and did a clean install of windows 7 x64 ultimate, installed all the drivers and connected to my router. the laptop will connect to the internet through an ethernet cable but will not connect through the wifi card, anyone have a suggestion that i might try? I've already downloaded 4-5 different versions of the driver.

Hello,

You'd need to check your hardware and ensure whether you need Broadcom or Atheros driver. You must have check this link but here it is again http://support.acer.com/us/en/product/default.aspx?tab=1&modelId=2237

I would also suggest to update the BIOS

I actually found out how to fix my problem myself, i installed the wireless card using the windows xp driver instead of the windows 7 driver and it worked just fine. even though its a windows 7 x64 operating system the xp x86 driver worked

I'm having the same problem on the same machine. Where did you find your drivers? Could you please post the link? Thanks!
