Acer Aspire One ZG5 will not boot, it seems to be running but the screen is blan

when I power my Acer Aspire One ZG5 all i get is a black screen, I can hear the system running but cant see anything on the screen.

Try connecting to an external monitor and use the keyboard hotkey combination to activate the external monitor. If you get video and everything works fine then your laptop screen has failed and needs to be repaired. If you do not get video you need to dig in further. . .
