Man, I knew Apple's profit margin was high but 21.5%? That's freaking ridiculous!

And I've never really cared about Acer beyond the reviews I've seen of their products, which have been mediocre.

Though it's too bad they fired their CEO, it will be completely impossible for them to copy Apple. Steve Jobs runs Apple not the BoDs. If the Acer BoD really wanted to bask in some of Apple's success, they should hire a guy with a vision that might work and then resign, getting hired back on as interns.

[citation][nom]Belardo[/nom]Acer will most likely never be an Apple... that required innovation. ACER is a parts company that puts them together and sells basic boxes with paid-for bloat ware.[/citation]

Apple is horrible. They make proprietary crap, they make the user feel like a complete idiot and force them to send their products into their special repair depots.

At least with PC's I can try to fix them myself!

Why is Apple's profit margin so high? well, its because they over price their products because they feel they are at a higher class than the rest.

Bleh, I wouldn't want Acer going that route. That means they will be overpriced, thats essentially what they are saying.

The board is a bunch of idiots. Acer can't be Apple. Acer doesn't have vision. Coming and firing people because they don't know what else to do isn't going to solve the problem. The best Acer can do is wait for Apple's patents to expire, wait for tablet tech to mature and then produce a similar product for less (just like they did with PCs).

The board wants the CEO to bring Acer to an innovative new direction, not having him to develop products to compete against Apple. This is a challenging job, I do not know if anyone in today's world is capable to achieve this goal.
