Acer M3910 (Help please!)

Hey, I bought my Acer Aspire M3910 about 2 years ago, and now it's pretty outdated. I'm looking to upgrade the CPU and GPU (and obviously the PSU to combat the upgrade)

I have no idea what type of motherboard is in this PC and it's capability. I would be looking to upgrade to a Nvidia Geforce GTX 560 for my GPU and an AMD Phenom II X4 965 for the CPU. The PSU would be an antec 550w or something along those lines.

If anyone could please tell me if the motherboard built into this PC is capable of running these components I would much appreciate it!

I don't think you are going to have much luck trying to use an AMD CPU on an Intel based MB:

Okay, I see. Is that not an option at all then? Because an AMD quad core seems much cheaper than Intel.

So you didn't say what cpu you have now. How can we recommend an upgrade without knowing what you've got?

Yeah sorry. It's an i3 550 3.2Ghz Dual Core.

I just looked at the prices of these cpus at newegg. The i7s run over 300, and the i5s rin over 200. Those are refurb prices. My advice, the cpu upgrade is not worth it. Go for just the graphics upgrade.

Main reason i want to upgrade the motherboard is for Sata 3 but i want to try get the best out of my set up now its for Music Production i just bought Cubase 7.5 this will be my main programme so thats the main reason for my rebuild
