I am currently living in China looking to buy a new monitor for my Machine at home.

the Acer Predator XB271HU is what i'm leaning towards but in China it is advertised as 1ms response time, but when I do any research on the monitor elsewhere it says 4ms response time. I added a picture of the Sales poster as well. (heck even a couple of sites)

Now i'm wondering if the model is slightly different or they are just outright wrong, maybe interpreting the data wrong? I know 1msvs4ms is not a big deal, but i currently have a 1ms and would like to keep it that way.

I thought i was reading reviews from older screens but the model numbers are the same.
are the models different here?

any insight to this would be great, I added all the info at the bottom of this messge including links to the sites I would buy from.

Here, here and here all say 4ms (and many more sites)

Model : 型号 XB271HU Abmiprz

It even says it in the technical specs provided:

Solution
Response time is not really the only one you have to pay attention to.
You should also need to pay attention on the refresh rate.
For 165hz, anything up to 6ms theoretical response should be still ok.
The response time written is not the real response time either, you need to really measure the real world response time. Many websites do it for you.

NOw,
XB271HU has 2 variants.
abmiprz = TN (1ms)
bmiprz = IPS (4ms)
Read carefully before buying.
I would take the IPS variant, since it has the better image reproduction.
Just take note, getting a fully issue-free sampel for 144/165hz IPS will need a bit of your luck a.k.a. you might need several RMAs to get a 100% problem-free sample.
The risk worth every single bit.
I have the older model...

Well that explains everything.
After a quick look on jd.com and taobao there is a fair price difference between the two models as well. Is IPS that much better than TN? it is about 1000rmb price difference (~160 usd, 200 Can) a fair amount of difference.

So the real question is 160-200 bucks worth the IPS over TN?
