Hi there.
I am using an old 27" imac from 2010. This particular model allows me to connect my PC Gaming rig and switch on the fly between PC with a GTX 1080 and the imac. So work and play on the setup.
However the iMac is now 7 years old and looking to replace it with a mac mini and an Acer Predator XB271HU 27 inch.
The Acer has both a Display port and HDMI inputs and I assume that I can connect both PC and Mini.
PC will use the Display Port as G-Sync needs it. However assuming something and reality are often very different.
So I have some questions ....
Using two computers over the two monitor inputs does the Acer allow me to switch between them?
If so will there be any interference or does the Acer terminate the Display Port signal properly to prevent artifacts /interference etc.
Using the HDMI I will of course lose a lot of screen real estate for my workspace as I believe the HDMI input cannot implement anything above the 1920x1080. So I am also considering a DP Switch.
Has anyone found or using a good and working Display port switch that does not cost almost as much as a monitor?
Thanks.

No HDMI can go up to 4k, so you're not gonna lose anything except max FPS.
There won't be any interference from having both systems connected.
There will be a switch/button on the front/bottom edge of the monitor that will let you switch inputs, basically all monitors have this, it's not special.
You don't need a displayport switch/adapter, and you don't want to try and use one either, they're expensive.

Just make sure you use a new modern HDMI (2.0) cable.
