have this old pc from acer.

planning to upgrade this so it runs some minor games at decent fps

current pc specs:
16gb(just added another 8) ram
i3-7100 cpu
no gpu
local 750w psu(changed the old one as its not functioning anymore)

my questions;

what compatible cpu and gpu for this motherboard?
without changing motherboard

im planning to upgrade this one by one

im thinking either gpu or cpu first then last motherboard

the cpu I'm planning to replace the i3 is i5-9500, which has 6 cores, 4 more core than the i3

and for the gpu is gt 750ti 4gb, which is better than integrated intel hd 630

is this 2 okay for the motherboard?

*if* already upgraded those 2, what motherboard should i upgrade for it thats compatible for the cpu(i5 9500) and gpu(750ti)

and in storage, i think i saw a m.2 slot, what storage is compatible for this

planning to use this for like

dota 2
valorant

docs
word
some Photoshop

Not going to happen with your current motherboard.

To add,
local 750w psu(changed the old one as its not functioning anymore)
we're going to need to know the make and model of the PSU.

I'm against upgrading a prebuilt since it only drives your return on investment towards negative. You also haven't mentioned your location, your preferred site for purchase and your budget for your upgrades. To further add, you mentioned the motherboard, are you working with an Acer prebuilt or are you working with a motherboard salvaged from an Acer prebuilt?

If it's the prebuilt itself;
sg-11134201-7rbmy-llyv40211jkqfb

the chassis will only allow you to have half height cards, which severely restricts your options(or you do have options but they are ridiculously priced). Airflow in that chassis is also bad, meaning you're looking to cook your investments.

already transferred the parts to mid tower case

the psu is 750 local brand so its cheap, with the following upgrade, psu is included, either corsair or msi psu

this pc is only a gift to me, I have a laptop more powerful than this.

this will be my backup

and in motherboard, i thought it can house cpu the same socket lga 1151

this system is almost decade old, so planning to upgrade bit by bit
