I have a wireless network adapter since ethernet is not possible. Especially, it's a Tp-Link TL-WN722N. I have noticed that when plugged into the motherboard slots it works worse than the slots that are on the case and are indirectly connected to the motherboard, and it sometimes disconnects briefly from the wifi. I would prefer it if I was able to plug it into the motherboard since I sometimes hit it when its on the top of the computer and I don't want to accidentaly break it. Can anyone help me?

Solution
Get a USB cable and extend it to someplace safe.

The problem is likely that when you connect it directly to the motherboard ports a lot of the wifi signal is being blocked by all the metal and other materials in the computer.
