[SOLVED] Added new 8 core but really laggy

I installed a 8 core and upgrade from a quad. It has lower frames on games that I played on the quad. I have checked temps and they are fine. I have checked my motherboard compatibility and that is fine to.

Tell us the exact model of the motherboard, models of both cpus and in what games you have less fps.

Willl this be the dreaded 'my AM3+ MB does not support the FX8350 125 watt CPU' scenario?

Adding more cores within the same CPU architecture will generally increase (or at worst, not decrease) FPS. Going between different architectures though, that's another story. For example, going from an Intel i5 to an AMD FX-8350 would be considered a downgrade, despite adding four more CPU cores.

Regardless, we need to know what CPUs you went from/to to be able to help.

Not really especially not with CPUs that are boosting,a quad core that can sustain a high boost clock on all cores while gaming will perform better then a 8 core or even 8/16 core if those can only run at base clock for all cores while gaming.
