I recently purchased a INTEL 2TB 660P M.2 80MM, PCIE NVME ssd. My motherboard (ASUS ROG STRIX Z390-E GAMING) has two M.2 slots and one of them is being used as my boot drive with a Inland Premium 512GB SSD 3D NAND M.2 2280 PCIe NVMe ssd. My question is can I simply plug in the new ssd(intel 660p) and I will see a new drive in windows when I boot? Or is there something I have to do before or after installing the new ssd.

Will there be any issues in terms of performance with both M.2 slots being filled? My motherboard user manual says that only some SATA ports could be disabled if the second M.2 slot is being used. Will this new ssd function properly?

Solution
Should be no problem.
At most, you might need to Initialize it in Disk Management if it doesn't simply appear as another drive letter.
