ADM Athlon 2100

Hi. I dont really know a great deal about computers and i was wondering if someone could help me out.

I want to upgrade my Ram on my Athlon 2100. At the min its running on 256mb. Is it possible to upgrade the ram to 512mb and for everything to work fine? Or can it not go any higher than 256mb?

Of couse, you can. Just add another 256 MB stick, and it'll be 512 MB

Ok so how similar do the two mb chips have to be? All i can read off the other one is:

PC2100 DDR SDRAM
32x64 256mb
DDR DIMM
184 pin

The only other thing i dont know is what mhz the other chip is. do the mhz have to match? How similar do the chips have to be? Do they have to go as far as being the same make/model?

As said above, just put another 256Mb sitck it - Your 2100+ will work with DDR266 RAM - Although, it's probably just as cheap to but DDR400 RAM now :?

You don't have to buy DDR266. DDR400 and DD333 will work just as fine as DDR266.
