I would think IBM would be interested in them with their stock down like this. If the NY fab deal was a lock, IBM would love to get the kick back while making a 45nm production fab. IF IBM has High K metal gates and some other technology they think they could get to market quickly, it could put AMD as the real deal for competing with Intel.

AMD is in a bad spot. Most of us "non AMD Fanboys" have seen the Iceberg drifting around for awhile and kinda figured AMD was on course for it. K8L and a crappy 65nm process could very well sink AMD after spending their wad on ATI in a desparate attempt to protect themselves from a bleak future in the CPU market.

I would like to note again that Apple looked at IBM,AMD, and Intel for supplying it processors and went with Intel. Everything that has happened so far since then was pretty much known to be going to happen by Steve Jobs because he research all the companies and they all told them what they had comming in the next couple years. Just a thought, maybe this includes AMDs ability to pull off 65nm and the K8L performance.......

How would you describe the other 8000 65nm processes? Oh you mean there are only two companies making them?

So how do you describe a "crappy" 65nm process? One that doesn't fit your high quality standards?

Smart people who are concerned about the ENTIRE industry and neither CPU company knows AMD is the little engine that could.

I can see why Hector and Dirk got mad at the Q4 Analyst meeting. Back before Opteron, AMD was the low cost alernative - even though perf was similar.

Now that Core 2 has come out with firesale prices (E6300 is still 100s less than 965EE) it's all oom and gloom.

Most of you DESERVE a monopoly that rips you off. Fortunately for those of us who just want a PC and who careswho makes the CPU we can

ALL HAIL THE DUOPOLY!!!!!!

P.S.

So far this year AMD has licensed GPUs for handhelds, Turion for embedded, sold 200mm equipment, will sell more, introduced a new Home platform and a new mobo standard, etc.

What more do you want Wall Street?

If C2D prices are "firesale", what are AMDs? Garage sale?
Careful Baron, your green is showing very bright in this post

Once again, perfect example...you're still no good at this. Hey, what happened to your "who makes over 100k" question. Pretty funny you got shut down by the first person you asked this question to. I suspect there are plenty of others here in a similar position...or soon will be. You will likely struggle for the rest of your life, becuase you are your worst enemy. I wish you luck though. Maturity comes at different points in peoples lives.

I was curious. Who answered? I struggle because of weak people who let others run their lives for them while they struggle to be taken seriously.

I am still the best C# developer I know, so that's what makes me happy, not being liked by anonymous people who I probably wouldn't like in person either.

Wow, how do you define maturity? Taking the first positive Intel statement and living off of it?

As far as that silly nickname it came from a stalker named gDODO.
Why are you angry on me BaronBS?
It is not my fault that you are full of bull$hit.

He did it because I am not backing down.
No, Baron, no! :?
I did it because you are arrogant uneducated troll without respect and because you are full of stinky BS. You don't deserve any better.

Especially not to anonymous idiots on a public forum.
It is very hard to be considered as an anonymous idiot on this forum. There is a lot of competition, but so far you are the greatest, absolute champion. Keep the good work and we'll send you to the special olympics. :trophy:

You read what you want and convince others that you know what I was saying
Oh....the irony.

, but that's like a retarded kid explaining Differential Equations when he never took it.
and that's exactly what You are doing.

All fools stick together which is why I stand alone. I'm no fool.
Yes, fools don't stick with retards. So, do you think that being the only retard on this forum is an advantage?

But I'm still a PROFESSIONAL C# developer who has done 1 year of work in a few months.

I'm still the only nerd with a rap album. I'm still the guy who was right abotu AMD releasing platforms after QFX. I'm still the guy who said that Barcelona woul dbe at least 80% faster than Opteron (AMD even said it). Let's see, what else?

I said there were HW problems with Asus' QFX board and LostCircuits basically proved it.

The list goes on and on. Just keep being a stalker. I'm not angry. I told the guy a stalker cined the nickname. You are a stalker. You actually posted about Sharikou who will probably NEVER SEE IT.

That's a stalker with low self-esteem. You even used my blog thumbnail as your avatar. You are a stalker.

PERIOD!

But AMD will not be bought out because who would want to deal with what Hector does?

Heh, here he goes again, spewing false accusations about the stupid little rate thingy. And resorting to the "new user" tactic, classic thirteen year old troll from a 36 year old man?

He really gets too irrate and hostile to even bother with. It's too silly to waste time aswell. I'm going to just have put those BS goggles back on and step away. Spamming isn't nice anyways.

Thank God. And DON'T COME BACK.

This thread is comedy gold 8) 8) 8) 8)

He's a basket case ... no doubt about it.

He is isn't he? Now me, I have very nearly had sex on the dance floor of a club with a sober woman - about 4 times. So obviously sexy women don't think the way you do.

They are who I care about liking me or not, especially those 21 year old virgin types.

It's astounding, I'm not sure if this is normal of him, but's he's seriously sunk to the absolute bottom of the barrell.

Intel's scam pricing of crappity Netbursts? Irrelevant.

To suggest that Intel's aggressive pricing is sailing toward a monopoly and that all conscientious consumers should pay more for less to keep the duopoly alive? Asinine.

Boasting of your C# skills as a desperate attempt of justification? Irrelevant, asinine, and childish.

I am accustom to avoiding spamming and flaming, but if Baron can stick around for this long, the rules here must be lax. In only a couple light-hearted posts, I'm sure I've now sunken to a miserable little Intel whore in his eyes and part of his delusional "Brood".

It's more amusing than anything to see him rant, stumble and knee-jerk like some poor little ass of a man. Definately not worth conversing with over any subject since his biases flair out in repetitive, immature and humiliating tantrums.

Well, I'm glad at least you are enjoying yourself. What is bias in terms of predatory pricing?

If any other company did what Intel does they would have been slapped like MS. The only reason they get away with it is because there is only one competitor who can't frivolously spend millions on lawsuits.

Look at the way the DOJ investigation of MS happened. Several multi-national conglomerates cried foul. If VIA and Transmeta were to join in, maybe the problem would be solved much easier.

http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/cpu/display/20070215235758.html

Can this be good?

"Today IBM files suit in district court for anti-monopoly laws as they see apply against the new consortium "Samsung-AMD-Dell" (see related story "SAD" consortium formed from chance meeting of execs at an Austin Starbucks.) "I see why IBM feels they need to do this" stated Jabba the Hut, spokesman for the consortium. "But we need to put food on our tables, we need to survive" he added."

The author of the above story is held harmless for any loss incurred due to someone relying on such a preposterous story. Ahh hell I just made this $h1t up.

Baron, Intel is selling the fab because it would not produce and was not profitable, similarly they sold off a communications division because it underperfromed.

Wow, I have to remember that you guys seem to have a problem with context clues and couldn't possibly realize I meant that AMD had to sell a Fab - Fab 25(?).
Wait, I don't have time for that.

This is addressed to anyone who feels they fit what I am about to say.
I started to read this post cause I felt what was being said is a worry. By the time I got to the last pages and found it was a lot of chest beating and bragging, but not a lot of proper debate.
I don't wish to single any one person out but come on fellas (and girls), it seems to be the people with no information in there Profile doing the most chest beating, bragging and the old I'm better, faster and smarter the the Next Avatar.

We all know anyone can be anything or anyone at any age on the Internet.
Unless we have proof, who really knows.
Sorry for going off the subject :? , but sometimes reading 2 or 3 pages of chest beating trying to remember what the post is about, is just tiring.

My guess is the loudest one's are usually the youngest ones. I don't feel the need to talk my self up or attack anyone personally, I am who I am.
My profile speaks for me. 8) 8)

Please Keep the chest beating to a minimum and I promise to refrain from going on to Much. :) :)

And most certainly neither do you.... I think it takes a bit more than having a customer order chips at a big discount for a bank to extend credit... yep, I am pretty sure the underwriters look at a little bit more than your accounts receivable books.

I'm not talking about
1
customer that CAN'T provide an outlet for more than 30% of the market. You have Dell on the brain. AMD has 1000s of partners worldwide.

If you count an even or greater distribution of share amongst the major world markets, then at least 68% of AMDs orders are for PCs that will never see the light of an American port day.

Now Lenovo is fessing up to Intel payments also, so what is that about?

Sounds good to me, I always tell my customer I can only give them a 99.9% guarantee on there computer repairs. You just never know. 8O

My guess is the loudest one's are usually the youngest ones.

You may be amazed to discover that BM is actually 42. I know, I know...hard to belive, but true. Although, I could be mistaken. I believe he just had a birthday recently so he might be 43 now. I know this because he started a thread wishing himself a happy b-day.

So, not only is he the best c# programmer he knows, he's also his best friend that he knows.

Juice please do not think that the Baron is a representative sample of THG...

He is and always will be what you have seen in this thread.

You can ignore him and it would NOT be any loss...

Please remember that EVERYTHING is for sale.

Excellent point. A buyout is an opportunity, right place, right time, enough cash and voilla!.

And by the way, if AMD were in fact a crappy company, as suggested by many at this forum, why would anybody be interested in buying them?

Except Intel of course, just to kill the competition. Intel whish they could buy AMD, it would have costed them less than this price war. But they can't for obvious reasons.

I can think of a few names who would be interested in this acqusition, but that's really not what we should be concerned.

If for whatever reason, AMD stops manufacturing desktop chips and you find tourself paying a grand for a Celeron-class CPU, you will also wish AMD stayed in the competition.

I'm not being optimistic, I'm saying what it looks like. AMD recently said that Barcelona will debut a t the original Opteron dual core prices.

Speculation: Yeah cause why intro Kuma at good prices.

That means that Agena and Kuma will also be where X2 was last year.

Speculation: Yeah just like AMD didn't have to right.
Intel will have to drop prices. Especially in server where AMD will retake the 2S space.

And AMD would never think of laying off its employees
Yes they would but they know how to survive on crumbs. Intel doesn't.

As far as the defections, that's what everyone says, that if it's faster they will dump Core 2. I'm not saying they wil drive them to bankruptcy but Intel has a lot larger infrastructure so they are more vulnerable to losses affecting their employees(in terms of layoffs).

Speculation: How is that speculation? If Barcelona (dual) is 80% faster than Opteron dual.......
Intel has to hope that Barcelona ISN'T 80% faster than Opteron. Cause that means Kum ais faster than C2D and Agena is faster than C2Q. Agena FX will redefine the enthusist desktop and Intel will have to go with two sockets for enthusiasts.

But Intel asked for this war with those crazed Core 2 prices. Hopefully it won't backfire.

Yet another member of the Brood proving how upset you are all that your precius Intel is being taken through all of this by a little company worth 1/10th.

Baron, Baron, Baron

Your attempt to attach the word 'brood' to people you dont like, which is basically anyone who owns an intel, would actually be humerous were it not such a pathetic counterstrike at the "horde" moniker. Sady, THG doesnt have a 'yawn' emoticon to demonstrate how boring it is. You could have at least tried to come up with a better word, like cell, or coven, or claven. Oh, before you bother trying to explain, I get the implication your attempting to make using the word 'brood' ...your implication is as transparent as you are. And sadly, like so much you do, it fails. Dont worry though, you buck up and go right ahead trying.

Well, weve had Baron NLogic defined for awhile. This thread clearly demonstrates another one of Barons long standing delusions - Baronomics

Baronomics
-A company in debt is secure because investors have to keep throwing money at it to stop from losing the money theyve already invested
-A company in debt can go deeper in debt if they want to because the further in debt they go, the more secure they are.
-A company in debt is secure from takeover because the debt itself makes them secure.
-The concept of "throwing good money after bad" doesnt apply in business.
-Banks will loan more money to a company in debt because somehow, it will prevent the loss of earlier investments.

-A company operating profitably is unsecure because they dont have debt to protect them.
-A company operating profitably is dangerously unsecure if the are competing against a company that is unprofitable because the unprofitable company is really more secure for the above noted reasons
-A company operating profitably is always on the verge of collapsing under the wieght of is own infrastucture.
-A company operating profitably can not afford to expand because they are not operating in debt.

Wrong. Fail

save that top pic ,it will be our fanboy of the day award.I think captain robert april can photoshop "I am a fanboy" on it,or whatever.
Too bad i uploaded them in the wrong size.. They're distorted... Dammit. :x Yes, CRA is pretty good with Photoshop, and we both have a similar sense of haha. I just limit what i say in here, where he doesn't as much.
