fx 8320 @ 4.4ghz, r9 280x stock, 8gb ddr3 1866 ram, fps ranges from 91 to 37 mostly in the 40's 50's, with the new driver 15.3 i am still haveing the same issue to the day the game launched, what is my issue? no over heating at all

Hey sorry long time away from this thread, I have recently upgraded to a R9 295x2 and still am getting those shitty fps drops, I'm playing ultra at 1080p fxaa no super sampling no caching of sunspots or shadows, no shadows and no shader preloading, my guess is it's a coding problem that amd cards are just suffering with or driver related upto date driver as in 14.12 omega

This sounds like like one of a couple things. Either your Power supply is not delivering good power to your graphics cards or you are having issues with the Bus on your motherboard.

What power supply and motherboard do you have?

Well the 40s and 50s at 1080p is standard for a R9 280x that is at default clock speeds but if you are still getting 40s and 50s on the R9 295x2 and you have the most up-to-date drivers then I would suspect hardware. If it is not the power supply or drivers then look to the motherboard. Try updating the BIOS on the motherboard and if you have a friend see if you can run the graphics card in their system to confirm that it is in your motherboard (it could also be your CPU too). I would get a performance monitoring tool like MSI's After Burner and turn on the logging. Then run your game and check the logs. Also get a temperature logging tool like Speed Fan and log the temps during your gaming. You could be overheating causing the GPU to throttle (this is unlikely but to be sure).

Let us know how it goes and good luck.

It's not overheating, CPU usage is at 60% max on a core at a time, also got usage is around 50%, I have talked to many people and they said the game is just horribly optimized for amd cards and CPUs but honestly it's been 7 months

The gpu usage is well below 50% when the frame drops happen also the CPU never goes above 60% usage on a single core at a time while the drops happen or when I'm getting full fps, the temps are giving me 50c on the CPU and 60c on the gpu don't think it's a overheat issue

Ok I'm back looking at the CPU usage right now, my fx 8320 has one core core 8 reaching 80-95% load while the other cores are well into the mid 30's gpu usage is below 50% and the core clock is not at 1018mhz like it's supposed to be, instead it sits at 890mhz what can I do?

Is this true? Because I do know that when playing crisis 3 my CPU usage is in the 80's 90's when looking in certain directions, lastly I can play cod world at war at 8k graphics (ss) on my 1080p monitor with zero fps drops from 91 fps on a 64 player server.

Correction on the world at war super sampling I have it set to 16x super sampling no drops, amazing game and love it, btw how is black ops 2's optimization? Just want to know as I have already pre ordered black ops 3.?
