Hello guys I just took a huge jump on upgrading my gaming computer and want to make sure I do it right. I am upgrading my 1060ti to 3070, my ram from 12 to 32, and basic 60hz monitor to a 244 hz monitor ( these I’ve already bought ). I am also considering upgrading my i5 to an i7 but not sure i need to.
I see so many post about overclocking, and fine tuning your graphics card and certain bios settings. I would like direction as i want it to preform as well as it can bur i dont want to mess anything up.
I am all fan cooled not water cooled. Most of my setup for mediocre games, some racing, some fps, and a lot of video editing. But I want to get into more intensive games and streaming more consistently

What is the full pc spec including make and model of psu?

If me I’d ensure all drivers are up to date and then just use it for a while. No point in tweaking until you have proven its 100% stable and temperatures are good at stock settings.
With everything new heres what i have :
Gigabyte B365M motherboard
Hyper 212 Cooler Master ( cpu cooler )
I5 5600K
Corsair vengeance pro ddr4 3600mhz x32gb
600W EVGA W1 psu

uhhh i think thats everything?

Here is a list of cpu upgrades for your motherboard:

I5-5600K is not on the list, a typo, I would guess.
Your motherboard does not support overclocking so that is a moot point.
After you install your new graphics card and test, then you can assess out how sensitive your games are to cpu capability.
While a i7-9700K would be a fair upgrade, they still cost some $200 on ebay.
For the same price, a new I5-12400 is about twice as strong.
Yes, you would need a lga1700 motherboard (<$100)
and you could reuse your ddr4 ram.
