I am currently looking to upgrade to an X99 build but I am unsure about what DDR4 to buy and if I need anything else. I want a themed build this time so would also like to know if there are better parts that are black/white that I could buy at similar/slightly more prices. I do plan on overclocking.

Things marked purchased can not be changed, I already have them in my current build and have no reason to replace them.

Solution
Also, I recommend the Asus x99-a board. In a recent review, MSI had a contaminated mobo, so I have only been using Asus and Gigabyte

It does fit one, but when I was looking around I gathered that the Phanteks Enthoo Pro has better airflow than the H440, but the H440 is smaller and quieter.

H440 also doesn't have optical drive support, I didn't put it in the build but I do have a blu ray optical drive.

link to review?

I currently have an MSI mPower z87, hasn't caused me any problems other than bios getting corrupted which was fixed easily. I have never owned an Asus board and my last Gigabyte was not that great (but it was AMD).

Edit 1: If I got the Asus I would pay the extra for the Pro for aesthetics, doubt anything else it does is worth the extra money.

Edit 2: Does anyone know how good the built in AC is on the Pro? I may be able to sell my PCE AC-68 if its good enough which would make buying the board justifiable and it would get rid of an eyesore.

It would be a downgrade to go from 1.3Gbps to 867Mbps but both are already overkill for my internet.

Going to change motherboard to an Asus X99-Pro for now and remove the adapter unless I can find something saying the built in AC is poor. My internet is 100Mbps down and 10MBps upload, would like to have it be able to go faster than this though as my ISP bumps my speeds every once in a while.
