Hello,

Here is my current part list:

I was originally planning to get the following parts instead of the ones listed above:

• 6600K but after seeing a video where overclocked 6600K gets up to 100% load while someone was playing GTA V I thought 6700k will be worth a premium.

• GTX 970 but since there are no IPS 1080p panels with GSync on the market I'm leaning towards GTX 980 Ti together with XB271HU monitor.

• Asus Z170-A with RM1000i PSU mainly for the look (black and white) but once I found a Gigabyte Z170X Gaming 7 board that goes with a FREE CM G750M PSU I've changed my mind since the board itself is better with the same colour scheme and a free PSU will pay for the price difference. Sure, not the best PSU but I can't go past this deal to save a few bucks.

So, what do you guys think about my picks for the system? Sure, it's a little too expensive for me but will it pay off in a long run?

Thanks in advance for your advices! 😉

Not much changed compared to the part list in my first post and total price appeared to be the same...

I changed AIO cpu cooler to air since I been told skylake runs cool so why not to save some money on it? :) However, I'm not sure if temps will be adequate for both GPU and CPU in NZXT H440 silent case as I don't think an airflow is very good in that case. I guess I will have to find out once I put all the parts together :)

Also changed GPU (same but air cooled version), RAM (200 MHz quicker and 7 gbp cheaper), PSU (instead of G750M psu that comes free with the motherboard), case and removed mechanical drive from the list.

Yeah, I know, this is why I went with XB271HU over PG279Q from Asus, it is 100 GBP cheaper for the same panel, even cheaper than XB270HU (did you get revised version of this monitor?)

We have the Latest NEW Revised Version that does not suffer from the Screen Bleed the First Batch had!

BTW, I just noticed you have pretty much identical parts in your build :)

Heh yeah. I don't know if I got the revised version - maybe. I'm not too fussed about being able to push the refresh rate to 165hz anyway - I don't get anywhere near 144fps in many of the games I play.

Can't believe the XB271HU is cheaper. I would have much preferred that design! Although saying that, it's $100 more expensive over here.

165 Hz is just a marketing move, if you switch to that mode the picture quality decreases making it useless...

There are 3 reasons why I'm getting this panel

1. It is an IPS panel which is fast as hell at the same time (other IPS panels struggle to deliver fast response times as well as having low input lag) and it has high refresh rate at your disposal when you need it

2. GSync - even though 980 Ti is most powerful consumer GPU to date it struggles to deliver consistent 60+ FPS in some modern games at 2k resolution so gsync is there to make any game run smooth...

3. I never experienced 1440p myself but I believe it is way more pleasing compared to 1080p (I hate to see every pixel when reading on my 32" 1080p monitor)

Everything has just arrived.

Thank you all for your time and effort.
