Advice on dead GPU

The other day my two-year old PC crashed while I was gaming. On restarting it, the GPU (980ti) seems to have died - the fans are not spinning and it's not detected in the BIOS. It works OK using the mobo integrated graphics.

I have checked the connections and tried the card in another PC, without success. There are no visible signs of damage on the card.

My question is, are there any other things I can do to check the card is really beyond repair? I know I can try 'baking' the card in the oven as a last resort but this seems a bit extreme and I was just wondering if there are any other intermediate steps.

Any advice appreciated.
